&lt;p&gt;I know that having a more RAM helps a little bit, but it doesn't solves the problem of Vista.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;After the first (or even second) service pack should the things get better ;)&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But, I agree to Armin. Productivity with VS2005 running Vista is worse for most of us in comparison to VS2005 on XP. I have 2GB of RAM.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I haven't actually experienced any problems of that kind, VS2005 works exactly as with XP, and VS2003 works even better (faster) than with XP.&lt;/p&gt;
