Everytime I had a look on a it-magazine, I was stumpling on a article about SOA. Unfortunately all of them talk of a technologic topic in terms of software development.

I've got a notion, that Service Oriented Architecture, attract attention just to CIOs, developer and software architects. But where is the business impact? - Or, isn't it wrong to talk about an "impact" on busniss processes or organisation!? Couldn't be it the other way? Shouldn't be there a "Service Oriented Process" at first and a "Service Oriented Architecture" in terms of a business organisation-structure?

A look at Wikipedia shows us: "Service-orientation describes an architecture that uses loosely coupled services to support the requirements of business processes and users."

Where are these people, these users and business processes? Do I life in a world of developers who got just an technologic view of this concept?

Anyway, I'm looking for the hen, which lays the egg...

Ist mir doch in den letzten Wochen nicht eine IT-Fachzeitschrift in die Hände gefallen, die eben NICHT das Thema SOA aufgreifft. Jedoch rollen alle Artikel das Thema in irgend eine Richtung technologisch auf.

Man bekommt fast den Eindruck, Service Oriented Architecture ist ein reines CIO, ein Developer oder IT-Specialists Thema, also Technologie getrieben!? Wo bleibt der Busniss Impact? - Ist es nicht sogar falsch von den "Auswirkungen" auf die Geschäftsprozesse oder die Organisation zu sprechen? Ist es nicht genau umgekehrt, dass der "Service Oriented Process" voran gehen, und das eine "Service Oriented Architecture" im Sinne einer Organisations-Struktur vorauszusetzen ist?

Ist doch schon in Wikipedia zu lesen: "Der Begriff Serviceorientierte Architektur (SOA) oder englisch Service Oriented Architecture, auch dienstorientierte Architektur, ist ein Managementkonzept und setzt erst in zweiter Linie ein Systemarchitekturkonzept voraus."

Oder lebe ich als Consultant im IT-Umfeld zu eng umgeben von Developern, die nur die technologische Sicht des Konzeptes haben?

Ich jedenfalls bin auf der Suche nach der Henne, die das Ei legte...
