Microsoft BizTalk RFID is an open platform that enables industry vendors to develop RFID and sensor solutions on the .NET platform. In the yesterday’s release of BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Microsoft is shipping an innovative device management and event processing platform at the edge of the enterprise, designed to provide a scalable, extensible platform for development, deployment, and management of rich RFID and sensor solutions. Core components include a device abstraction framework and robust set of tools that enable customers and partners to drive efficiencies in real time via native integration of RFID data with the BPM capabilities of BizTalk Server.
At this demo powered session the fundamentals of the new BizTalk RFID platform (Programming Model, Architecture, API’s) will be showcased via a step by step deep dive into code samples. The session will also address vital topics such as virtualization of heterogeneous devices, implementing device providers via the DSPI (Device Service Provider Interface) and event handlers to process RFID and sensor events. We will also demonstrate how to collect, filter, aggregate, and transform events from devices via rich RFID business processes.

If you are developer or architect looking to take the plunge into the new Microsoft.SensorServices.* namespace, this is the session for you! Knowledge of BizTalk Server is not a pre-requisite for this session.
In a few days I will publish more detailed agenda. I’m glad to see your comments and suggestions.
